2024 Tax Rate Analysis

For the 2024 tax year, the proposed tax rate is set at $0.37 per $100 of property value, a slight decrease from last year’s rate of $0.38208 per $100.

This reflects a 3.16% reduction in the rate.

However, due to the increase in the average appraised residence homestead value from $366,812 in 2023 to $388,435 in 2024, the taxes on the average residence homestead will rise by approximately 2.55%.

  • Tax on average residence homestead: $1,293.49 (2024), up from $1,261.35 in 2023
  • Annual increase in taxes (if proposed rate is adopted): $32.14

If the adopted tax rate results in taxes on the average homestead increasing by more than 3.5%, an election will be required to approve the new rate, as per Section 49.23602 of the Water Code.
